This programme consists of seven modules covering a wide range of basic computer skills. These modules include: managing files, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, slideshow presentations, internet, email and web page design.
This programme is offered in the evening or daytime to cater to people with busy lives who want to up-skill in the use of computers. It also incorporates the International Computer Driving Licence(ICDL), an internationally recognised online computer qualification.

Diploma in Information and Communications Technology*
The first semester of the Diploma in ICT provides a broad grounding in the core aspects of information and communications technology. Students who complete and pass this semester can gain a Certificate in Information and Communications Technologies. At the same time you will gain personal and business skills that will make you an effective communicator, team player and valued employee.

New Zealand Diploma of Business and NZIM Diploma in Management
This programme provides students with the knowledge and skills relevant for management and administration positions. Students will also gain useful analysis and problem solving ability.
Graduates from this programme have typically developed the personal confidence to effectively contribute to a range of business and community organisations.
Core Elements
The Diploma comprises of 12 papers that can be completed in two years of full time study. The NZIM Diploma comprises 6 NZ Diploma in Business papers and can be completed in one year of full time study. Both Diplomas can be studied concurrently.
Tai Poutini Polytechnic also offers certificates* in accounting, human resource management and marketing, each comprising of two NZ Diploma in Business papers.
Graduates of NZ Diploma Business are employed in management, supervisory, work team leadership and administration positions in a range of business and community organisations.

The NZ Diploma Business programme provides opportunity to crosscredit modules to degrees and other programmes offered by universities and polytechnics in New Zealand and overseas.
Entry Requirements
Applicants less than 20 years old must have:
a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework; and
fifty credits at level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Maori; 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing. The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards.
