Further Study Paths

Graduates may choose to continue their study in education, social or health disciplines. A clear pathway exists for students to enter the second year of the 3 year Diploma in Early Childhood Education.*

Tai Poutini Polytechnic has a relationship with the NZ College of Early Childhood Education (Christchurch). This relationship will enable students to enrol and complete further study by distance learning.*

Entry Requirements

  • Successfully achieved NCEA Level Two (or equivalent).
  • Applicants must pass an NZ police check.
  • Applicants for whom English is a second language must meet IELTS (or equivalent) Level 5.5.
  • Applicants must provide evidence of previous experience with children and involvment in a range of cultural, social, sporting or community serveices.

Selection Criteria apply. Special Entry may be granted where evidence exists that the applicant can successfully complete the programme. Please contact the Polytechnic for details.
